Fred Frith about Improvisation and Collaboration
Fred Frith about Improvisation and Collaboration
“I don’t think you can ever really get to grips with improvising unless you accept yourself for who you are.”
The collective vision of Geinoh Yamashirogumi
When Ecophony Rinne was first released in 1986, its ambitions exceeded the limitations of the formats available at the time. This new edition, half-speed mastered at Abbey Road, approaches the material with a different level of precision, focusing on the preservation of its extended high-frequency structure and hypersonic overtones.
The Necks Experiment with Long-Form Minimalism
Disquiet is a genuinely absorbing series of luxuriously paced improvisations from the Necks, who have been doing this kind of thing for decades.
“SCENIUS IS LIKE GENIUS
ONLY EMBEDDED IN A SCENE
RATHER THAN IN GENES”
